On Friday 2nd of October, we said a fond
farewell to our beloved colleague and friend Mrs. O’Dwyer as she retired. Maura
began working in Scoil Bhríde Naofa in 2004, before the amalgamation in 2013.
She enjoyed 16 fulfilling years of teaching before her retirement.
Maura’s passion for Science and Math amassed an array
of awards for our school. Her enthusiasm was infectious to both students and
teachers. Her encouragement and willingness to assist created an atmosphere of
discovery and learning. We enjoyed many interesting, and sometimes amusing Science
Nights and our trips to the RDS were legendary!
Maura loved nature and this was evident in the various
birds, plants and animals that she brought into our school, giving us the
opportunity to see them up close. She was also renowned for her apple pies
(using apples from her own garden of course) which were always gratefully
Maura, thank you for all your contributions over the
years but most of all thank you for the memories. Enjoy your well-earned
retirement from all of your friends in St. Brigid’s Primary School!
