Eason Spelling Bee County Final

On Monday 4th March we hosted the County Final of the Eason Spelling Bee. Emily Shanahan from Ms. Moolick’s 5th class represented us as our school champion….and she played a blinder. Although nervous starting out Emily kept her composure and took each new word in her stride giving each new spelling plenty of thought before answering. She went from spelling words like ‘only’ in the earlier rounds through to ‘federal’, ‘impediment’ and finally tackling the word ‘laborious’ in the final round. Emily came out as County runner up and we are very proud of her. Congratulations to the contestant from Maynooth Educate together who goes on to the next round.
