December

December passed in a blur of celebrations, performances, nativities and farewells.

The infant classes welcomed their parents in to view their nativities and Christmas songs and impressed us all with their confidence after just a few short months in school.

The choirs and bands had numerous performances including the Whitewater, local nursing homes and the Village. We also had an impromptu concert in presentation playground.

3rd to 6th class hosted two fabulous evenings in the Parish Church. These were evenings of song and music showcasing all that is special about the Christmas season.

Some children went to the Reindeer hospital and of course Santa came for his annual visit before the holidays began.

3rd class wrote about the procedure of making hot chocolate and then put it in to practice while watching a Christmas movie!

Mr. Fleming’s Retirement

Of course the big event of December 2025 was saying goodbye to Mr. Fleming. Mr. Fleming who had been a teacher/ principal in Kildare for the past 40 years has left an impression on every child and adult he met. His kindness, empathy and fairness was appreciated by everyone. During the month Mr. Fleming visited all the classes to wish them well. The children, teachers and parents created beautiful works of art and memory journals to gift to Mr. Fleming to show him how much he has meant to us. We had a lovely mass at the end of the week where we celebrated Mr. Fleming’s education career, surrounded by his friends and family.
