Maths Week Oct 12-19
We had lots of hands on maths exploration during maths week. Older and younger classes came together to discover all the way we encounter maths in our environment. It was a great maths learning experience but it was also lovely to see how the older students encouraged their younger peers and guided them through the activities. Thank you to all the organisers.
Autumn/ Halloween Art & Fun
Ms. Phelan’s class have been busy exploring the theme of Autumn through literacy, touch, sound, smell, arts and crafts, and dance to name just a few. They also met with some friends in the field during our whole school play.
Ms. Clinton’s class had a Publishing Party to celebrate the children’s writing progress. They worked on recount writing in September and procedural writing in October. They have been practicing writing first drafts, editing and publishing their work. During the publishing party the children went around reading each others work and left compliments as well as pieces of advice to focus on for improving their work next time.
6th class took a walk down to Black Abbey
Senior Class Projects.
Ms. Barry’s Class studied ancient China this month and Ms. Merrin’s class looked at the Normans and how they lived.
Halloween Walk
The month culminated with our annual Halloween walk up through town for the senior classes and down to Kildare Village for the junior classes. It was a beautiful fresh morning adding to the joy of the children in their costumes. Thank you to all the parents and business owners who came out to support the children.
