September 2026

September is always a busy month. We welcomed five classes of Junior Infants who are settling in very well to life in St. Brigid’s Primary School. To get us off to a good start we had our start of year mass & prayer service, class assemblies and we raised the flags at the front of our school.

It was lovely to welcome in Parents and children to our meet and greet afternoon where the children get to show their parents their classroom and parents and teachers put faces to the names!

Squire Gannon 10 a side Gaelic Tournament in KTCS.

SBPS 1 and SBPS 2 both qualified from their groups into the Semi Final. They played each other in a competitive Semi final which went to penalties, SBPS 2 winning. SBPS 2 played Gaelscoil in a close final but unfortunately lost in the end. Well done to Abbie Donnelly who won Female Player of the Tournament.

Fun Run/ Play Day

We had our first fun run this month with the classes from 1st to 6th completing the loop around by St. Brigid’s well and the infant classes completing a few laps of our own running track. Thank you to all the parents who came along on the day to act as marshalls ensuring that this event is safe for all concerned.

We also enjoyed a play day down in the field where all friends, siblings & cousins get a chance to meet each other for a chat and a play.

4th class choir

A Special Day for Our 4th Class Choir 🎶

Our 4th Class Choir had a wonderful opportunity to sing at St. Brigid’s Cathedral as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The children had the honour of performing three songs for the Austrian Ambassador to Ireland during her visit. They sang beautifully and represented our school with great pride.

Well done to our 4th Class choir & Ms. Hogan — what a special experience and a lovely memory to cherish!🎶
